101 in 1001.

The Mission: Complete 101 preset tasks in a period of 1001 days. March 15, 2008 - December 12, 2010

The Criteria: Tasks must be specific (ie. no ambiguity in the wording) with a result that is either measurable or clearly defined. Tasks must also be realistic and stretching (ie. represent some amount of work on your part).

The complete list is on the right. I'm gonna try to update this as often as possible.

1. Do Weekly Resolutions for 12 weeks in a row
2.Participate in 100 Snapshots.
3. Read: a mystery, a non-fiction, a horror, a science, a Pulitzer winner, a trashy romance (preferably Gossip Girl, a sci-fi, a play, a really sad book, a self-help book, a comedy, a grpahic novel, Narnia.
4. Go camping with friends.
5. Go on the scariest ride offered at the local amusement park.
6. Learn to cook something totally awesome.
7. Have a spa day.
8. Have flat(ter) stomach.
9. Learn to meditate. (Shambhala Mountain Center retreat, if you dare??)
10. Learn at least basic sign language.
11. Read the bible (Allowed to skip scary apocalypse prediction chapter)
12. Donate 1,000,000 grains of rice through freerice.com (0/1,000,000)
13. Do the sock exchange, postcrossing.com, bookcrossing.com.
14. Go clubbing three times after you turn 18, even if I hate it the first time.
15. Write a long letter to myself on the day I graduate high school to be opened the day I graduate college.
16. Write a really good short story. I'm allowed multiple attempts.
17. Scrapbook my England trip stuff.
18. **Learn to drive a stick shift.
19. In a future fight that seems like a really big deal, forget pride and just let it go.
20. Improve vocabulary.
21. Make a drastic change in my hair.
22. Acquire 10 outfits I am really proud of. (0/10)
23. Save $500 ($0/500)
24. Put 100% effort into writing a history paper for school, and see if it can be published in Foreign Affairs.
25. Attend 5 religious services.
26. Please PLEASE do a Spanish Immersion program. I can be fluent in 1001 more days!
27. Listen to every song on my iPod (0/4389)
28. Learn to snowboard or ski.
29. Vote for the first African-American president of the United States (or the first woman.)
30. Go to a hockey game (Matt's count!)
31. Go to 3 of Emma's Lacrosse games (0/3)
32. Learn a real song from memory on guitar.
33. Learn a kickASS concerto for cello (darest I try Elgar?)
34. Run 25 miles (not in a row) (0/25)
35. Beat Final Fantasy XII.
36. Sell clothes at Plato's Closet.
37. Knit something that is not a scarf.
38. Visit the natural history museum.
39. Finish Buffy with Allison.
40. Acquire the OC dvds and watch them all in order!
41. Go vegan for one week.
42. Take a swing dance class at the Mercury.
43. Do a 1000 piece or more puzzle (help is allowed!)
44. Get a bike and re-learn to ride (perhaps Emma can help?)
45. Try 3 things in that book I didn't think I could do (0/3)
46. Play a game of poker and don't lose.
47. Get a REALLY heavy metal CD and enjoy it.
48. Watch several art films (sundance style)
49. Buy something from Etsy.com that I love.
50. Learn basics of sewing. (Alli or Lauren?)
51. Download a Spanish language podcast and listen to it once a week!
52. Read a book in Spanish. Kid's book OK.
53. Subscribe to Time, or at least read an article a week from the internet.
54. Learn a song on piano that involves left and right hand. I don't care if it's Heart and Soul!
55. Write an essay for the hell of it.
56. Get an overseas penpal.
57. Memorize Lucy Liu's Queen of the Crime Council speech from Kill Bill vol. 1 and say, in public.
58. Keep Ichthyopod alive and happy.
59. Watch Schindler's List.
60. Participate in a march or a protest.
61. Burn and send the LEP mix cds (1/21)
62. Visit Share Friday for SEP.
63. Become an SEP counselor.
64. Adopt a cause.
65. Don't go a week without talking to someone from high school when I go to college.
66. Make an LEP style list of good qualities in myself and my friends.
67. Collect a notebook of really great quotes. Be creative.
68. Go to an aquarium and see a really mean shark and a sweet whale.
69. Obey the speed limit all day, five days. (0/5)
70. Get a B or higher in both my science and math course next semester.
71. Paint nails Whitney Garret style thirty times. (0/30)
72. Watch one of the big presidential debates in 2008.
73. Attend the Democratic National Convention. Very Important!
74. Find a job I like more than Target. Do not accept, however, a paycut to below $6.25.
75. Finish the Video Professor HTML instruction CD.
76. Get contact lenses BEFORE PROM OMG.
77. Upon completing final IB exam, go to the pile of IB stuff in my room, thank it sincerely for sticking with me for these 4 years, then purge it, taking no prisoners except the papers I especially hate, which I shall burn.
78. Finish all episodes of Arrested Development with Mom.
79. Do an urban exploration. Do NOT get caught.
80. See a local, unsigned band.
81. Get a psychic reading with a friend.
82. Finish Molly's Indie-ification.
83. Discover 10 new bands I like a lot. (0/10)
84. Don't bite my nails for one week. This might kick the habit. (0/7)
85. Have 3 themed movie marathons. (0/3)
86. Acquire my own digital camera.
87. Get my video camera fixed.
88. Go on a road trip, 100 bonus points if it is to visit a friend.
89. Spend a day in the mountains by myself.
90. Go to a flea market.
91. Memorize five poems (0/5)
92. See a stage show. Small theater?
93. When I get a laptop, customize it so I love every nook and cranny.
94. Raft with Hannah.
95. Blow bubbles with my little cousins.
96. Do a volunteer project for one day at LEAST.
97. Pay my library fees and make use of the card.
98. Go to the Art Museum with Allison.
99. Make a day with Amanda where we only speak Spanish.
100. Random acts of kindness.
101. Donate a dollar for every one I don't do.

this is such a cool idea kayla! i think i'm going to do something similar (if you don't mind!) to keep me busy this summer before i leave for france. good luck with everything!
